Intercity organization of deaf Vranje |
“Right on Rights” is advocacy campaign with aim to promote capabilities of people with disabilities and develop sensibility of Vranje’s businessmen for its employment. Also, project offers mini exchange of work gathered people with disabilities to Vranje’s businessmen with all necessary references about people with disabilities including level of education, knowledge about trades, knowledge of foreign languages, etc. Trough printing and distribution of leaflets “Law against discrimination of people with disabilities”, project informs citizens, representatives of business and people with disabilities-themselves about existence of this law file. Project activities establish First Forum of organizations gathering people with disabilities, with intention to make it sustainable. Also the project aims to create a non formal network of organizations gathering people with disabilities with the aim to help them in all segments of life. |

‘We can do it together” represents the beginning of the process of the integration the children with intellectual disabilities and children without disabilities in Central Serbia Region. The project activities were carried out in parallel with the raising awareness of the local authorities with the importance of this process, as well as strengthening of the cooperation of the Association of persons with disabilities and the representatives of the local authorities (the President of Kraljevo municipality, Head of Social activities department, representatives of the Center for social work, etc.). |

Also trough this project CRID and it's partner organizations supported the electing the new Act on employment of people with disabilities in Serbia through promotion of idea about inclusive society and design for all., also through education of representatives of business sector, local authorities, National Employment Service, Economic Chamber, employers from small and middle enterprises, people with disabilities interested to be employed and self employed, student of faculties for design, architecture and other relevant fields about rearranging the workplaces, approach and designing the working environment for all. |

"A place accessible for wheelchair users" Project aim is to lobby the local authorities to deal with physical barriers and traffic issues, by creating a multi-disciplinary Working group who should do the assessment and give recommendations for improvements. A pocket map of Igalo’s accessible and inaccessible locations will be published. This whole project works also as an awareness raising tool for the community as it included some survey/questionnaires, competition for the most accessible place, and 4 round tables. The whole project was wrapped up by Press conference held in Podgorica where the achievements of the project were presented to a wider public. |

"Employment=Equal opportunities" Project plans to influence public authorities responsible for employment, persons with disability interested in finding employment and general public. It should stimulate identification of new employment solutions and incentives both for employers and future employees. Activities consist of 2 seminars, one in Bijelo Polje and one in Pljevlja, awareness raising through radio and Tv shows and preparation and publishing of Publication at the end of the project explaining the key issues related to potential employment of persons with disabilities. |

“Employment and self-employment of persons with disability” This project is a continuation of a project DPO implemented previously and is building on achievements from the period before, i.e. the successful lobbying of local authorities for employment and self employment opportunities for Pwds. Activities consisted of Workshop for capacity building of persons willing to actively search for employment, with topics ranging from legislative aspects of running a business to business correspondence. This workshop was also envisioned as an opportunity to train the participants to transfer knowledge later on to the members of their respective organizations and therefore to create a multiplying effect. In addition, negotiations with Authorities, especially with Office for Employment, continued. Awareness raising among Pwds about current status of available assistance for employment or self-employment was also an important part of the project. |

“Psycho-social protection as a strategy of assistance provided to mentally retarded children“ Project aims at promoting the alternative solutions and services for persons with intellectual disability as well as defining the system of social protection with allocation of authorities and responsibilities. Additionally, the project will try to define the types of entitlements and rights for Beneficiaries of social services according to the type of their needs. Simultaneously it will work at raising public awareness about persons with intellectual disability and their rights through public gatherings/discussions and round tables. From the aspect of legislative change, the project will draft the Amendment to the law on Social protection (using the professional resources “Behar” has access to and lobby for its adoption with relevant authorities. This project also aimed at engaging further the civil society organizations (NGOs) and local authorities to search for solutions for this group of persons with disability. However, objectives of this project were partially achieved due to political reasons: delay in forming of Canton assembly. |

“Campaign for public advocacy for creation of support services for persons with intellectual disability in the community” Project will work on fighting the institutionalisation and promoting care within the community for persons with intellectual disability. Activities will be mostly centred around Campaign and will primarily be carried out in Sarajevo, Mostar and Banja Luka as centres of Administrative and Executive power in BiH. This campaign will be a multi-stakeholder activity as it is planned to involve not only branches of Sumero, but also Centres for Social work, parents, media and any other allies. Apart from raising awareness, the project will initiate the creation of working group and prepare a draft of methodology for establishing support services at the level of community, lobby for adoption of amendments and annexes to the Law on social protection.
To achieve all this, the initiative anticipates high usage of media and coverage of all activities for which preparations were already made during previous phases of this project. |

An umbrela for all (Persons with disabilities) the project aims to establish a PWD coordination body (umbrella) consisted by the non-governmental sector of the Prizren, Suhareka, Dragash and Rahovec municipality. This Coordination body will be engaged in identifying the priorities that will improve treatment of the PWD in society and will increase the cooperation between civil society and decision-making institutions. Within a proposed project a strategic action plan will be drafted. The main activities of the project consisted on a four debates organized with NGOs that are working in disability field, organization of a regional roundtable with all stakeholders that have an impact in persons with disability life’s and drafting of a strategic plan. As a result of this project the cooperation between DPOs has increased. MoU for further cooperation is signed and a coalition is created. This coalition has produced strategic plan that highlights the main areas of intervention in disability sector in Prizren municipality. |

“Participation of People with Disabilities in Decision Making Process” This project aims to support establishment of cooperation between DPOs as equal partners and creation of a non formal coalition of DPOs with the aim to empower disability movement and together advocate toward local authorities as well as to create a mix body committee for disability composed of representatives coming from disability field and representatives from local authorities. The main activities of this project were meetings with DPOs active in Ferizaj municipality, signing of a MoU between those DPOs, meetings with local media, meetings with main political parties and establishment of coalition of DPOs and committee for disability. These activities resulted with assignment a MoU between DPOs as a good will for their cooperation and creation of local coalition of DPOs. The advocacy activities resulted with creation of a disability committee as a joint body composed of representatives of DPOs and local authorities. |

Education for all. The project aim is to advance the disabled children’s rights especially in the primary education, informing the community, family, government institutions and those who offer services to the persons with disabilities about the needs and the rights for education of children with disability as well as to raise awareness on the needs for training the teachers to work with children with disability and creating new attached classes at regular schools. The main activities of the project were home visits of children with disabilities, organization of round tables with DPOs in Drenas municipality, organization of the meetings with directors of primary schools and representatives for education in local authorities, public discussion with political parties. The project implementation resulted with commitment of local institutions to create conditions for improving inclusion of children with disability in schools. It is established an advocating group composed of parents of the children with disability, which is obliged to lobby in an organized way to the local government institutions aiming to incorporate as soon as possible the children that are left out of attached classes in the primary schools of Drenas Municipality. |

“And we have the right to work” With this project we would like to mainstream the problem of unemployment of PWD's from north Kosovo region and to approach to different stakeholders involved in solving the problem of unemployment of PWD's in north Kosovo region. The activities of this project consisted on advocacy activities towards local authorities, organization of defiles on the streets, organization of workshops on promotion of antidiscrimination law as well as organization of tribune to discuss the issue of unemployment of people with disability. As a result of this project the awareness of general population and specifically among representatives of local authorities, international organizations and business sector on problem of unemployment of PWD’s is raised. The local and national authorities have better understanding of complexity of problem of unemployment of PWD’s and we have succeeded to established sustainable links with government officials and to develop cooperation with other NGOs from region of north Kosovo and joint work on mainstreaming of problem of unemployment of PWD’s and promotion of rights to work for PWD’s |
