do it"- The project aims to open the legal informative
service that will give opportunities to women with
disability to realize their rights in easier way.
Through organization of workshops and radio emission,
this project will actualize the discrimination problems
of disabled women as well will strengthen the self-confidence
of women with disability. Project was cancelled due
to the internal problems within the organization. |

and support to PWDs "Bravuracooperativa" |
People's initiative for equality-
the project aims to promote rights of people with
disability as well to raise public awareness of the
local population. This objective will be achived through
organization of different workshops for people with
disability , media coverage of all activities, printing
and distributing of leaflets, organization of tribunes,
cultural and art manifestations, sport activities
and stimulation to the population for participation
in the campaign. |

10,000 signatures towards the law
for the protection of the rights and dignity of PWDs
is a nation wide campaign for obtaining the minimum
of 10,000 signature to support the Systematic Law
for PWD. Through a large network of supporting DPOs,
the Grantee managed to obtain some 18,000 signatures
and get their citizen initiative into the parliamentary
procedure. The whole process was followed by large
media coverage which contributed to the visibility
of the initiative and further raised awareness of
citizens about issues related to disability and their
mainstreaming. |

We live in the same world - A Week
Dedicated To People with Disabilities- The project
aims to increase awareness of public about disability
issue and to develop a network among institutions
dealing with disability. These objectives will be
achieved through organization of different activities
like: leaflets, badges, TV spot, educational programs,
round table and promenade of parents, children and
other citizens willing to make this problem known.

Creating a disability alliance of
North-western Macedonia - This project combines elements
of networking, capacity-building, and serving as the
base for persons with disability throughout northwestern
macedonia.
First, a coalition of dpos in the region of northwestern
Macedonia (initially including organizations Gostivar,
Skopje, and Tetovo) will be created through which
the capacity of the organizations within the coalition
will be increased by collaberation and combining of
resources.
Secondly, the pwds involved with each organization
in the network will have greater, easier, and centralized
access to resources on education and employment opportunities
and laws and policies affecting pwds. This will be
accomplished by creating a coalition website and distributing
a monthly newsletter, beginning one month after the
project start. |

Impuls |
Marriage and Family Counseling Office
in Bijeljina - accessible for people with disabilities
and their families- Improving the social status of
individuals with disabilities and the families of
individuals with disabilities. This is done with the
Centre for Social Wlelfare in where a counsellor for
marriage and family issues would deal with individuals
with disabilities and their families specifically.

Analysis about the number,condition
and needs of people with disabilities in Doboj Municipality-
The project entails an analysis of the needs and status
of individiuals with disabilities in Doboj. The analysis
includes both the urban and rural parts of the municipality.
This is a cross disability analysis with 350 people
involved. Included were experts, local communities
and NGO's in the municipality. The result is a printed
document with statistics on the current situation
in the municipality. |

Association of paraplegics and infantile
palsy |
One single stair is a mountain for
us- The project which is the first in the Doboj South
deals with architectual barriers, and obstacles faced
by individuals with disabilties in this community.
The activities of the project included meetings, printing
of visibility materials, raising awareness in the
community on accessibility issue. This also included
posting information on their website, such as legislation
and achieved results. The website will be used not
only for this project but in the future for informing
of all individuals on issues concerning this category
of the population. |

Humanitarian organization PARTNER |
Independent life- This project is
dealing with the topic of independent living and issues
faced by individuals with disabilities in Banja Luka.
One of the first activities was to setup a working
group that consisted of members of HO Partner and
members of other organizations namely: Assosication
of Visually Impaired, Distrophy Association and Association
of Paraplegics and Other Physical Disabilities. This
meeting produced specific demands that were forwarded
to all DPO's. The next activity was a printing of
a brochure entitled "Way to An Independent Life
for Individuals with Disabilities"done by Mr.
Drago Vucenovic. The brochure covers several topics,
from architetual barriers, to legal entitlments. Also
a roundtable was organized were representatives of
several entity ministries and DPOs were present. The
goal was to harmonize rights in both entities. The
project involved both media and members of the RS
assembly during the implemenation of all activities. |

MIS AAK - “Protection, integration
and socialization of disabled artists" |
“An Antidiscrimination Law
for PwDs in Albania“ - the project aims at drafting
of an anti-discrimination law, advocating for this
draft and lobbying the parliament for approving of
this law within 2006. The objective of this project
is to change the legal status of PWD in Albania and
to strive towards equal opportunities. In addition,
it will work towards strengthening the voice of PWDs
and contribute to the fulfillment of one of the EU
standards regarding the stability and accession process
of Albania to EU. The project has managed to create
the substential material basis for Anti-discrimination
law (translation of similar laws from other countries)
and to activate great number of associations in gathering
data and disseminating information. It has also influenced
the change in attitude in the communities and better
coordination and cooperation among DPOs. |

HELP THE LIFE |
Parents for self-help and advocacy
for children with disabilities- This
project resulted in the network of parents in Albania,
an umbrella organization of parents that should strengthen
the voice to promote chilrens'rights. The organization
Help the Life, Albania Disability Forum and Handikap
Interalb worked together to set up parents groups
all over Albania, and make them work together at local
level, to bring about changes for their childrens
llives. |

Acknowledgment- The aim of the project
is to gather precise and relevant information about
the number and the specific needs of the disabled people
in their community. This information will help in the
process of advocacy for the rights and needs of the
disabled persons. The information gathered in the process
of execution of this project would contribute to improvement
of situation and quality of life of the disabled persons,
and it will break some of the existing barriers for
the greater benefit of the society and community. |

The voice of reason- This project is
aiming to use the power of media as a tool to influence
community in general about the needs and the rights
of people with disabilities, knowing that through media
we can raise the awareness of the community and change
behavior of people towards disability issue.
The main activities of the project involve recording
of shows for daily broadcasting on local and national
radio, organization of public tribunes on different
topics where as participants will be children and youth
from the schools, teacher, social workers and our members.
Another activities of this project include publishment
of bi- lingual brochures on different topics of disability
with emphasis on human rights, equal opportunities,
prevention of disability..etc. |
